February 13

Today we made a delicious fruit salad! Thank you for sending in a piece of fruit so we could make this together. We also talked about how if we added something like sardines, it wouldn’t taste as good and compared it to being unkind to our friends.

This week in math, we focused on before and after teen numbers, skip counting and numbers to one hundred.

We were busy scientists this week building towers out of a variety of materials that had to be a certain height and hold a stuffie on top. Some materials were much easier than others to build with! We used popsicle sticks to build fences with and we made pop up cards!

Swimming forms went home on Wednesday. This is early for them as we start our lessons at the end of March, however, we have to send all of the information into the pool. Please return these as soon as possible and let me know if you have any questions or concerns.

100 day is on Thursday February 20th.  Please help your child to count out a collection of 100 items and bring it in on Thursday.  If it is an item to share with the class please put a note on it. We will be sorting and counting our items so only sealed food items can be shared.

Pink Shirt Day is on February 26th. If you would like to order a shirt, you can order through the Boys and Girls Club. The orders are due by the end of the day tomorrow, Feb. 14.

The returning student registration process for the 2020-21 school year opened February 1, 2020. All returning students are required to complete the process by February 29, 2020. The process allows families to indicate the school their child plans to attend in the upcoming year, apply to attend a non-designated school and request student transportation.

Enjoy your long weekend!
